Jackass Bitters

It's bitter enough to make you pucker, but oh so effective and very versatile. Jackass Bitter - great name, right? In Belize, the story goes that it's so bitter you gotta be a jackass to drink it.
In Spanish it's called Tres Puntas, which means Three Points. It has three, pointed, yellow petals that makes up its flowers. This awesome medicinal plant is a powerful trinity.
It's in many of the Rainforest Remedies Herbal Tinctures, and I add it to many of my Herbal Body Care Products. Here's why I'm so into it:
Its main use is for treating parasites, which includes fungus, Candida, amoebas, Malaria, ringworm, and any internal parasite. It can even be used as a hair wash to treat head lice. It goes in for the kill! And if that's not enough, Jackass Bitters is also an anti-viral. I use it to fight colds and the flu! You catch my drift, this herbal remedy is effective!

5 Preparations of Jackass Bitters
I start with the dry herb form and extract its healing properties through five different methods:

1. Jackass Bitters as a Tincture for Killing Internal Parasites

Tincture is the best method for internal consumption.
(I find most people don't like the taste so a tea is a bit much.)

- A tincture dose of Jackass Bitters can be taken directly under the tongue or in a 1 oz. glass of water or juice.
- When taking it internally to kill parasites, I do recommend using caution because it's so strong.
- I suggest taking probiotics to build flora. The key is taking the two many hours away from each other.
- Jackass Bitters can also be drying internally, so be mindful to eat healthy oils like avocado if taking it for many months.
- If cleansing from internal parasites, I also suggest a colonic to remove the dead parasites from the intestines.
- Lastly, it's not safe for pregnant and nursing women; it's just that strong.
- Children over 7 years of age can take small doses if they can stand the taste. I wouldn't call it a children's remedy though I know some who enjoy it.
2. Jackass Bitters is an Anti-fungal in Herbal Salve

For those of you who aren't familiar with herbal salve, it's like a natural Neosporin. Everyone who makes their own salve has a different recipe, but basically it's a blend of herbally infused oils in a base of beeswax.
Most people use the well-known herbs of Comfrey, Plantain, and Calendula in their salves. Some of us add St. John's Wort, Arnica, Echinacea, and Chamomile. I like to add Shea Butter and Aloe Butter, too.
I don't know why it took me years to add Jackass Bitters into my traditional blend because it gives it such a boost! As if salve couldn't get any better, well, it just did. It adds the anti-fungal factor!
Herbal salve heals cuts, burns, and even deep wounds so quickly. Hibiscus Healing Herbal Salve has even healed a client's eczema. It's a potent, soothing way to heal skin quickly.

One time when I returned from Central America, I had an odd skin rash. I soaked in Jackass Bitters in the bathtub and within three soaks it was completely gone. I like this method for treating full body rashes because the skin is submerged. I only recommend it for adults. For children I prefer to use a homeopathic remedy for skin rashes.
