How to Use Calendula Oil

Calendula is an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial; thus it's good for healing wounds. It soothes irritated skin. For these two reasons, I put it in all of my herbal oil based products. It's suitable for herbal salve, medicinal hair oil, and soothing lip balm.
The dry flowers are wonderful in sitz baths and vaginal steams for women, especially after child-birth. It's wonderful orange flower brings joy to the heart and heals the pelvic floor. It's gentle yet effective. I offer blends made just for women see Dried Flowers.
In fact it's so gentle, that it's the perfect first oil for infants. There are companies that make a baby Calendula Oil, but I don't prefer them because they still are blended with fragrances and other oils. Stick with your own straight up Calendula Oil with no additives.

The Oil for Infusion

The oil the Calendula is infused into is very important to me. Overtime, I have learned that all oils are not equal. Oils that are high in saturated fat can be very dangerous to the body. After 15 years of experimenting with different oils, I prefer Organic Non-GMO Canola Oil. Despite it's bad reputation amongst certain crowds, the scientific evidence proves that it Organica Canola Oil has therapeutic uses.
It's a combination of mustard seed oil and rapeseed. Canola Oil has 30% linolenic acid, 7% of Omega 3 and only 7% of saturated sat. It's also rich in Omega 9 and Carbon 98. It glides on the skin and hair unlike other oils I have used that have a more tacky feel. I absolutely swear by it's ability to heal the skin especially when it's combined with medicinal herbs - baby's bottoms included.
Calendula infused in Organic Canola treats diaper rash better than any other fancy, natural cream out there.
